What is illuminance or illumination?

First of all both are same, illuminance term is used in photometry and illumination is the term used in Photography in units of foot candela.

Illuminance is technical term used in photometry for visible spectral range.

It is the amount of total light incident per unit area. It is generally denoted by symbol E.

Formula to calculate illuminance is ….

E= Ø/ A

Where Ø is Luminous Flux and A is Area.

Luminous Flux: It the amount of light emitted by light source. It is measured in Lumen (Lm)

Under water Measurement: Our product has made easier to measure the light underwater. The scattering behavior of light underwater is proportional to the beam angle of the source. Having more tightly collimated light sources helps reduce scatter at longer distances and takes full advantage of the detector resolution. So here is the solution with us to measure light underwater with our Optical probe GL Opti Probe 1.1.10 that can be  submersible in water and can measure illuminance / irradiance under water.
